Cataclysm M2 to WOTLK M2 menu

    Cataclysm M2 to WOTLK M2

    In Cataclysm M2 files were changed yet again and will not work in WOTLK.

    I need a way to use Cataclysm M2s within WOTLK (and no silly answers like use cataclysm)...


    Simple request, probably requires reverse engineering or clever guess work.


    Reward: ~800 MMOwned Cash and lots of juicy rep (if you get a working solution).


    Advise/useful information is much appreciated as well.

    Hm. Well, if the M2 you want to use are solid-non animated models, then you could try the following: Use 3D Ripper DX to rip the models > convert them into a format 3DSmax can read > delete ALL misc meshes until you have the desired model > UVW map that model (3D Ripper DX also rips textures) > export it as .OBJ > use glitchy MES to convert the .OBJ to a M2

    Ohhithere, I've also tried doing this, as I've imported the area 'Skywall' onto a map into WotLK, everything works, the .adt's, .wmo's and stuff, it's just the objects! And they leave these annoying blue and white checkered boxes. :P BUT. I PM'd Tigurius, as he had managed to convert the race .m2's, and Tigurius said:

    "You need Cataclysm version
    4.0.0 ~ 4.0.0.12266: v9
    because then with v0x10 of m2, there are some bigger changes.

    I can't make any sense of it really, but if you can, please let me know how you did it as I'm equally interested. (:

    Do what Soul Eater said, look up the file in WMV (Cataclysm WMV) export it as 3ds and open with 3dsmax and delete all meshes until you have your desired model then export to Object and use glitchy's modelinjector for OBJ > m2.
