Tier 10 Texture and Model locations? menu

    Tier 10 Texture and Model locations?

    I like to do my model editing the old school way and change the models and textures manually (especially when I want to change a texture). I don't like editing DBC's because honestly.. I'm bad with numbers. I haven't done an armor swap before and have been looking through the MPQ files for the past 2 hours.

    Over the course of that time, I semi-figured out the naming convention B1izz uses for the 'Tier' sets, but it almost seems to reset, so to speak, at T9. For example-

    T2 - B
    T3 - C
    etc...

    T8 - H is the last one I can find. Following the theory, one could assume that T10 would be 'J', however, when I look at the newer armor sets, they go back to A, B, C etc using a prefix of 'Argent'.

    TL;DR- I'm looking for the location of the T10 Hunter armor models and textures to do a manual model swap and texture change to a recolored version of the old school T2 because I just can't stand how ugly I look in T10.

    +Rep to anyone who can help me out I've looked through all the MPQs and been unable to find it so far. Obviously I'd be more then happy to share it here once I'm done

    Can't help you with the exact paths, but one way you could try it is to load the shoulders or helm onto a char in WoW model viewer, then looking at the models' locations (should be in a dropdown menu in a window under view->something). Might provide you with a hint.

    One other major benefit of doing swaps this way is that it wont **** up come patch day.

    Awesome! I didn't know model viewer had that, I'll take a look Thank you! And yep- that's why I like doing them this way! None of that going in and moving DBC codes around every patch; Blech!

    Edit: Ohhhh! you know what? Arg- my model viewer doesn't have the models for T10. I think that was part of my problem last night! lol I'll have to see if I can find an updated itemset for it.
    Edit2: Wow... turns out I had a VERY old version. Found a new one that works that has the new stuff :3

    Ohhhhh!! I found something like it !! If I do File-> Export Textures-> it gives me a list of all the 'textures' in use by Model Viewer. It lists the texture and M2 of the shoulders with the Treepaths! Thanks so much for you help!

    yeah it shows the treepaths, but not the actual file names of the .MPQ, cause the problem is that these files are flying around in all .Mpq files like patch, common, patch-2
    so its hard to find/edit them..
