Swapping Spells To Previous Versions

Ok, so I need to know I can swap spells from the current version display to f.eksample a previous one that have been deleted during the patches. Like if i take Dragons Breath and I want to swap it to the post BC one with the particles that no longer exists in the game.

Please make a guide or show me how to do it. It's been driving me nuts for A LONG time.

I won't comment on swapping to them to previous versions but here is a guide on basic spell swaps (no pictures).

As I alredy know the basics of spell swapping using the ID's of WoWhead, Thottbot etc, that doesn't help! I need to know how I can find the display ID of the spells before they where changed in the patches and swap them with the current display! Like the old Blast Wave for example! Please! It's bugging the crap out of me!
