    I need help with noggit!

Hey i know im a newb here but its true because i am new to Noggit. First of all, I do not know how to save noggit! I have noggit 2003, and everything i read says either "k" or CTRL S or num pad 0, but none seem to work. Its very confusing and frustrating for me so if someone could please help me. Also if i am using a crapy version, then can someone post a version their using that works with 3.x.x. that would be nice. Another thing is i need help compiling and finding the "World" or "Maps" folder because my wow directory doesnt have those folders. One last thing is does anyone know how to atleast copy buildings or inject objects? It would be fantastic if someone could help me, thanks.

Hey there! Concerning your problem with saving: make sure you save each ADT individually! Depending on the version you have, saving may use different keys so go to nogg-it: releases and download the latest release. You should be able to save ADTs by pressing ctrl+s. Note that you must be in 3d roaming mode in order to save! If you don't know what an ADT is; An ADT is a square piece of an area (You can see ADT lines by pressing F7, the green lines show the borders of the ADTs), basically land you can edit to your liking. If there is no "World/Maps" directory present in your World of Warcraft folder, then create one!

About adding buildings and objects; there are several guides in the guide section which can tell you in detail on how to add objects and buildings!

    Good luck

No problem I'm still kind of learning as well so I can't really help you with compiling things into an MPQ at the moment, sorry :P I've searched for a guide but couldn't find exceptional results. Perhaps someone else will post a link here if they find a guide.

I don't have a guide at my hand so I'll write one instead.

To make your adts in to an MPQ file you will need MyWarcraftStudio.

    Link

    Mywarcraftstudio - WoWDev

Then when downloaded you click in archive open MPQ file and browse your way to the wow directory and look up the file Patch.MPQ in the data folder.

After that has been done, you select in the down-left corner to only show .adt

That will leave you with the folder World.

in the folder you find your way to your adt and then extract the whole sub folder it's contained in.

Once that has been extracted to place of your choice, you simple move your custom adt to that folder and remove unedited version of it in the file and rename your own file to the name of the one you deleted.

After that has been done you go in to MyWarcraftStudio again and press Pack-Create MPQ Archive.

Now it's time to create your MPQ file.

First thing you do is to is to name it patch-(random figure).MPQ
when that has been done it's time to add files.

Under Pack you will find the option to add files to archive.

Press it and browse to your edited file in your extracted folder.
When the file has been added you will have to right click it and rename tree-path.

The correct treepath to be added must be the same tree-path the unedited file you replaced had.

So to sum it up you will have to write down tree-paths names of files and
smash into 1 MPQ archive and add it to your data folder.

And since you no longer need wowme to use models, just login in and try it out.

Edit:From personal experience you often make mistakes with Tree-paths and names when you're a beginner, but trying many times has proven as always to be good.

Yes, but be careful so you don't delete any of the original MPQs in that file.
