[question] undo model edit

So I usually model edit my tauren into another race but today i patched 3.3.2 without removing the .mpq first. Now I am unable to go back to tauren even if I remove the .mpq file from the data folder. How will I go about fixing this? What's the quickest way besides reinstalling wow?

You need to remove model edits before you patch, otherwise they have a chance to merge with the Bl1zz MPQ files. It sounds like that's what happened here. (See: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...ta-folder.html )

You need to either delete the Original MPQ that it merged with and run the repair.exe (which will downgrade your WoW to base WoTLK), find a buddy who plays WoW and copy their patch-x.MPQ file and overwrite the broken one.. or reinstall.

: / I'm honestly surprised how many people don't know that MPQ edits need to be removed before updates. Anyhow, good luck! It shouldn't take too long to fix if you use methods one or two.
