Problem with Tauren Male -> BE or DR

I'm trying really hard to learn how to do this kind of stuff, but I've hit a roadblock.

Whenever I try to swap a character model to draenei or blood elf, it just shows up blank at character select and crashes if i zone into the game world.

Draenei females are listed here as being 16126? and blood elf females are 15475? correct?

I've been trying to swap a tauren male to different things and managed an ugly human female, but it crashes when it hits the water. Was hoping draenei or blood elf wouldn't but there's no swap file for that anywhere that i can find.
