Hello everyone.
Anyone else waste the last SEVEN hours of their life? I did!
I spent it learning how to extract, edit, and repack DBC files. Why? Attempting a few model swaps. Any (rare) DBC editing programs I managed to locate either A) could not open the file or B) destroyed the data upon opening or saving. It seems that nobody in any location anywhere has a DBC file editor that is younger than 2006.
So, as a result, I learned from various (nearly incomprehensible) guides how to convert DBC files to CSV, and of course corruption was rampant and success was limited. I did however manage to locate a program that could open, save, and edit CSV files like its supposed to (How queer, a program doing what it was made to do!) however I could not find a free, functioning, or even decent program that could even pretend to convert CSV back to DBC. Heck, at this point I can't even test the model swaps I was attempting.
Ergo, I must throw myself to the mercy of the MMowned community and plead for the release or a simple point in the right direction to a mystical, magical, evidently non-existent (According to every search engine on the internet that I know of and, most assuredly, used to the point of absurdity) CSV to DBC converter.
In short, I require a functioning (and free) CSV to DBC file converter or a CSV to DBC conversion. ...please? D:
Please note that: I have searched and searched and searched around MMowned for a program that works. I was lucky to find what I did as most download links have expired (Understandable, considering most ancient items such as these links do tend to die, most of these links were created during ****ing Nam) and what I did find did not work. So, trust me when I say I am not being lazy and just not using the search feature on MMowned.
Assuming anyone has bothered to read this far, I will also upload my CSV edited file, and if you so choose, you may convert it yourself with whatever program you some how have gotten (Oh how the gods have blessed you) and re-upload it and post it here. This is, of course, assuming you'd rather do that than make my life easier by letting me in on said amazing program. ;D
You can download my CSV file here.
