    [Question]WMOAreaTable.dbc Changes

    Hello everyone

a few days ago I decided to try World Building after I discovered tools like Nogg-IT and the Cyrect compilation, so far so good I've been able to do almost everything I had envisioned, to go the extra mile I started changing the area names by editting the AreaTable.dbc file and replacing the IDs on the .adt with Taliis. At first I didn't think much of it until I went inside .wmo building I had placed in my zone and it showed me the name of the zone that building actually was in, didn't make sense to me seeing my area was built from the ground up until I found out about WMOAreaTable.dbc

I did alot of reseach and while I found many guides on AreaTable.dbc I was unable to find anything useful on specific .wmo names, nor was I able to establish a link between the entries in both files and replicate them or figure out how the WMO IDs on the .dbc files are assigned.

This seems to be a much better way of changing the area names seeing as with the IDs on .adt you are forced to change one of 16x16 chunks on the .adt, and its not something you want to do when you have many buildings close to each other.

    Any help is appreciated

That is exactly what I was looking at yesterday, just wasn't sure and for some reason on the root file I found the uint32 data that matched the .wmo IDs on 0x34 instead of 0x20.

But I got it to work this morning, turns out it was actually something on the .adt file, probably caused by Nogg-IT, after reworking the .adt it started reading off the data I added on the database and the new .wmo IDs I assigned.

But the post showed me I was on the right track which ultimately led to solving the problem.

    Thank you!! +rep
