Model editing not working

Sup,
I have been reading up on how to model edit from race to race and race to creature and have learnt how to do it, only thing is when i put the mpq archive in the data folder it wont apply.. i was reading a guide called "Race to Race"

I am using patch 3.0.9 so i dont know if thats anything to do with it, i use Emu Hacker because im on a private server, but also i can download mpq files from "race swaps 3.0.9" and it works fine

EDIT: something else iv just found out, i just used Glitchy's Model Editing Suite and that works fine.
