Umm, if by 'custom models' you meen .OBJ files corresponding with 3dsMax or ArtofIllusion (or any other graphic-fixing software) then you'll need to convert the .OBJ file to a .m2 or a .wmo, depending on what the custom model is. You can perform this via Glitchey's MES (Use the Search Function to find a download), and is carried out via a procedure respectively named 'Model-Injection'.

If, on the other hand, you meen you're in the possesion of a .MPQ file and you want to activate that, you will have to perform the following:

Extract the .MPQ file into your WorldOfWarcraft/Data folder, then run WoW via WoWMeFix (not needed for 3.2.0).
    Good Luck.

Ah, ok, basically you'll need to pack the .m2 and .blp via MyWarcraftStudio. There are various other pieces of software that have this feature, although MyWarcraftStudio is widely regarded as the most convenient. <3 Search Function (A Download for this is hardly difficult to find)
Once you've downloaded you'll need to acquire the treepaths for both files (BLP and M2). The creator should have included this in his / her post. If not, PM me or contact me on MSN and send me the object - i'll give you the treepath.
Once you've found the treepath it will be time to pack.

Above is a link to a list of guides containing quite a few on MWCS Packing. Read through one or two several times, by then you should understand how the process works throughout.
If you're still struggling, i can pack them for you and send you the MPQ (Upload). However, imo you should do this yourself initially, the more people whom learn the better Good Luck m8
