Trying to switch Nelf Cat->Noggenfogger, advise please?

    Hiya,

Ever since i can remember i have played a feral druid with catform modded to the noggenfogger skin(ever since you couldnt use noggenfogger in cat form actually)

Anyway, from what i remember i used to just model edit myself by using MWS, copying the tree path of the cat druid.blp file, then extracting the noggenfogger to deskop, renaming it and then packing it.

Since i only recently returned to the game everything seems to have changed and i have no idea where to start, and as i'm labelled a leecher i don't get much replys on here, so i'm hoping someone could either give me some advise on how to do it myself or perhaps provide me with the file? (Nelf Catform-->noggenfogger)

    Thanks in advance.

This is basic - you can look at it as a simple rename of a file or two, follow my steps bellow:

Download WoW model viewer for your version of WoW (download can be found on this website, use the Search facility). Open, search for your cat druid model. Once you find it, locate the path you took to get to it, perhaps write it down. Then open MWCS, click file (top left), open mpq archive - go into your WoW directory, from there go into your data folder. Once you're in Data, open your common.MPQ (whilst in MWCS). Once you're in common.MPQ follow the path you took to reach your cat form in WoW model viewer. Once you find the .m2 file, extract it to your desktop along with the .skin file (and perhaps the .blp). Then you need to go back to wow model viewer and do the same thing you did with the cat, only this time you're going to do it with the noggenfogger (search for the model, locate the path you took to find it, follow that path in MWCS, extract the files to your desktop). You'll also need to copy and treepath (right click the file and click Copy Treepath) - paste this treepath in a spare .txt file or anywhere else that you find appropriate (work along your preferances). (this only applies to the noggenfogger, as you will find no use for the druid cat treepath)

From there you need to rename your druid cat form .m2 file to the noggenfogger .m2 file name. Do the same with the .blp and the .skin - i've never personally bothered with this edit regardless of the fact that i play a druid, therefore i can't tell you exactly what you're going to find in regards to the file names etc. Just rename them to a seemingly appropriate standard (if there are 5 .m2s for the cat and only 2 for the noggenfogger etc etc).
Basically what you're doing is you're telling your computer and your WoW.exe that your cat models and skins are actualy noggenfogger skins via the rename and the treepath swap.
Now go back into MWCS. Click 'Pack' at the top, then click 'Create new MPQ archive'. From here you'll need to go back into your wow directory, back into your data folder, and create a new patch. Name it patch-3.MPQ (MPQ must be in capitals). Once you've done that, click save. Now, go back to the top and hit Pack again - how hit Add new file to archive (or w.e it is). From there you need to click the ... to the right, which should take you to your hard drive searcher. From here you need to locate the files you renamed to noggenfogger (that are actualy druid cat form models) and click them one by one. Remember, once you click one, you will need to go back to the location of the noggenfogger treepath that you coppied earlier on, copy it again and paste it in front of the file that you've just entered. Once you've done this and all your files are packed, click File at the top, then hit 'Save and Close MPQ archive'.

You now have your working patch, which will swap your druid cat form for a noggenfogger. However, in order for you to use this in-game you must download Kynox's Mefix (Model Edit Fix) - which can also, thankfully, be found on this website .
Put the WoWme.exe into yuor wow directory, start your game with it, hit f8 at the loggin screen, login, and you've got your noggenfogger
Contact me if you need further assistance, that goes for anyone else reading this post
Good luck with your future edits pl0x
