    .M2 -> .Obj - > 3ds Max (Image doesn't appaer) +rep for help

    Hello there, trying to start up learning the basics and more advance parts of model edits. This far, i've learnt following:
    Launch My Warcraft Studio
    File-> Open MPQ Archieve-> Common-2.mpq-> Charater\Troll\Male\TrollMale.M2
    Extract - > Desktop.
    Launch Glitchys Model Edit-> Model Injector.
    "Open M2", picking TrollMage.M2 from desktop, "M2 to OBJ" and i get thesame file renamed into TrollMale.Obj. Usually it goes without errors, but this time on TrollMale.M2 i got the error:
    "Unknown Error For more Information View The Debug Folder"
    Details: Den aritmetiska operationen orsakade spill.
    (English: Details: The arithmetic operation caused waste.)

    Then i launch Autodesk 3ds Max 9 32-bit, clicking on File-> Import and chosing the fileformat to WaveFront Object (*.OBJ). Thereafter i pick TrollMale.Obj from my desktop. I get a popup in 3ds Max 9 named OBJ Importer and i get multiple options. As Glitchys Guide tells, i should only have "Single" option enabled, rest should be disabled. I press "Ok" but nothing appears, and there's my problem, even when there was no error turning .M2 files to Obj. files. Also, as i loaded those .Obj files that got loaded at my desktop anyway, i get critical errors closing down 3ds max.

    And a question; Isn't it possibly just renaming the .M2 file with thesame name but in .Obj format manually?

    (The main problem is that the .Obj file does not appaer in 3ds max, not the errors as they just happend while doing and typing step by step.)

    FYI, i have deleted M2Craft.dll in My Warcraft Studio folder as you would need to do anyway in order to extract .M2 files. Also, im running Windows XP. Some .M2 Files work while some doesn't seem to work.For instance, TaurenMale.M2 didnt caused any error. TrollMale.M2 did cause an error.

    TaurenMale.M2 is 1.25MB while TaurenMale-Model.Obj, the result of using Glitchys Model Injector is no more then 210 byte, a significant difference. Guess Glitchys Model Injector tool made me invalid .obj files?
    At the Glitchys Model Injector tool it gives me .obj files with alot less size of bites, doesn't show any error messages but in 3ds Max, nothing appears.
    If i copy the .M2 file, rename it TaurenMale.Obj and import it to 3ds max, it gives me statistics; 1 unknown command, 0 unsupported commands, 0 identical vertex index in face, and 0 identical points in face. No errors but that, and nothing appears.

    +Rep for help, Thanks

    Easiest way would be wowmodelviewer >export as ms3d (obj is buggy) + Milkshape 3D >conver to .3ds or .obj and edit... i allways do that :P
    and the size of your M2 / obj can be very diffrent, its two total diffrent formats, + glitchys leave some water mark in the M2 format when converting to M2....and rename it from .M2 to .obj wont ever work... :P

    Thanks for the help, downloaded Milkshape but when importing, it told me its not registred. I googled around to find a keygen or likely, but as the dumbfck i was, i downloaded a file that appaered to be a trojan. However, tried everything to fix the comp but now all i can do is pray that a system restore via a cd (that i doesnt even got access to) will one day fix it.

    So sorry for the late answer, and i havent really had the chance to try this out. Haven't even had access to a computer until now. However, +rep for the help and hopefully i will get my comp up and running again. And hopefully this will also work, thanks ^^
