[Help]Skinning a tiger

ok first i followed a guide to make a skin and allow u to use it and stuff in game
the person in the tut said when opening mywarcraftstudio you should open up the patch.mpq well i opened it and i went to FROSTSABRE and it didnt have any blp's so i went to common.mpq and found the FROSTSABRE and got the mistsaber skin and modified it then the tutorial said to make a new mpq with the same treepath but with my new skin i need to know what should i name the mpq and did i screw up on using the common instead of patch? help would much be appreciated
