    Frostwolf Howler -> Spectral Tiger

Hey mods. I've spent at least +3hours searching how to mount edit. I've learned to change races/gender/weapons, but not mounts! Which was my initial goal . So how do you do mount swaps exactly? Is there an up to date tutorial that I missed somewhere?

If you could help me out, or even better make me an mpq file of what I requested that would be very kind of you.

You need to look and edit spells.dbc with taliis editor or other compatible tool and search the row 23509 and edit the column 110 (the DisplayID of the summoned mount) and change it to 24004.

I cannot upload a .MPQ since I am using the 2.4.3 client but if you can open and edit the spells.dbc you can do it by yourself.

Also you can first try to change the spell the items tries to cast/teach, look for spellid_1 in you items database.

after trying to figure out how to swap the models of my mounts to spectral tiger, you just owned me by it can be done by simply swapping the spell and not the model, however I have got Taliis but I can't find spells.dbc (or any other .dbc files) to open?

Looked for some tutorials but couldn't find any

The dbc file are in MPQ that got "locale-frFR.MPQ", "patch-frFR-2.MPQ", "patch-frFR.MPQ".

The recent ones are in patch-frFR.MPQ, these MPQ are in frFR folder for french players.
For english ones it should be "enGB" or something like that, right ?

    x:\World Of Warcraft\Data\enGB\ ( something like that )

You got something marcelo_20xx how do you "exactly" edit the spell.dbc with Taliis ?
I tried to and it didn't work : can't add rows, can't modify anything that won't return to his original state after saving ...

Did you really try this out ? :/ That could be some of great help just here !

Edit : Sorry didn't get that you were in 2.4.3 ... I need to edit spell.dbc for 3.X so bad ><

here goes => Filebeam - Free Fast File Hosting

Extract the archive in your enUS folder ( or enGB or whatever your country ) that is in your Data folder and enjoy yourself

If you want to know the way to change creature display info ( or "swapping mounts" if you want to say like that ) here goes too

Originally Posted by needcheats View Post

    - First solution ( boring ) -

Now how to find a display_id ? first you can search for the entry of the creature you want to mount ( for swift spectral tiger ) it's 24004, you can find these ids on wowhead if you know the way ( just see the link of the creature Swift Spectral Tiger, the entry is with the link ).

Then the display_id, well if you have a private server database you just search for the entry of your creature and the dispaly_id will be there, but as you're asking and doing that things I think you don't have one.

    - Second solution ( the best ) -

Or you search for the name of one blp that goes on the creature you search in the CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc :

Example : I search the Swift Spectral Tiger displayid, I open MywarcraftStudio, click on the CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc that I have extracted from the patch-enUS.MPQ before, and put on my new patch-enUS-5.MPQ, a window called "Database Cache" just open to show you the very insides of the dbc,

there is a little blank white space near the "Find" button just here you write "Spectral" and it will find the SpectralTigerRidingArmored texture, on the first column of this line there is the display_id and the line you were looking for !

All the texture aren't always that easy to find, most of the time you'll have to go in the Common.MPQ or patch.MPQ to find the good names for your blp mounts.
These files will have a Treepath that will be like that "Creature\XXXXXX\xxxxx.blp"
the "xXXx..." is the name of your creature folder, it will contains all the texture that can be use with the same model, you'll only find blp in Common.MPQ no .m2 ( it can prevents you from crashing MWS )
