    [Help!] Taliis problems (Will write a guide if my questions are answered!)

    OOOOOOOOK- So I found out about at nice little tool called Taliis- but I have 1 or 2 ( I'm lying) questions about the program.



    [Notice-1] The order that the following "questions" will follow- is kind of my list of priorities-so please try to find the first answers more than anything- but feel free to give me some help with the others if you can !

    [Notice-2] Please don't tell me to use WoWME.exe I am using the most up to date one- please read on and you will know that probably isn't the issue.

    1.) OK so I decided to play around with this function in Taliis where I added water-( 2 part question.)

    A: I have put the water into that tile - so all of it is covered. whenever I log on and go to my spot I DC when I enter the water ( and im sort of entering through a "wall".) BUT - when I used the same patch on my EMU server- it worked perfectly fine. Whats wrong???

    B: I have also been trying to figure out if I could control the size and XYZ coords of the water- if so how ??? ( specifically the Z part :P .)

    2.) My next question is about the object / doodad files. Do I have to (A.) edit the Doodad/object files to do this OR (B.) The Appearing Objects/Doodads tabs? What do these each do? AND can I add to them instead of "swapping".

    3.)What does inject height/alpha map do?

    4.)Can I do anything with the Texture Blending Water Height Map- and Height map tabs??

    5.) Are there any full guides hidden on the internet about this program?

    I apologize for the big read- but I would REALLY appreciate an answer to the first few, and if I get an answer for them all I may write a guide for the program.

    Use a newer WoWME.


    If the exactely same thing worked fine on an emulator, its most likely Blizzard preventing it. You may log the packets to get an insight in what's happening when it DCs you. Maybe the Opcode sent might tell one what the actual reason for the disconnect is. Normally, edits do not disconnect you. I personally have never seen a case, where the server kicked me for doing such a thing.

    I guess, you took "Edit-Water-Import from PNG", or?
    You may want to do a heightmap there. I don't know how exactely Tiguris made it. Try exporting an existing one and then import a modified version of that. Most likely, the image is getting brighter as you increase the height. But I have never used it. I will get Tigurius in here.


    Appearing * is where which doodad defined in * Files appears. So if you change the filename in * Files, it changes everywhere, where defined in Appearing *. If you want to add a new one, add a new entry to * Files and then add a new entry to Appearing *. Objects seem to be bugged for me as the upper & lower extends are not in here. Oo Tigurius?

    Heightmap injects the heightmap from another open file to the currently edited one. Alphamap does the same for the textureing alpha maps. This enables you to clone these things. As well as doodads there.

    Except for looking at them? Nope. Some can be exported.

    Not as far as I know. In the Taliis thread on this forum, there is a little guide written by Tigurius about the basic features.

    Maybe that function just wont work for some reason. Try allwater by Cryect. It won't allow you to have a water-heightmap, but at least add water to 0. Without haveing the file, I can't tell you, what exactely went wrong and even if I had it, I might be clueless.

    Or use the allwater dialog of File-Upload.net - adtplugins.jar
    (only works with pre-3.x ADTs!)

    The heightmaps are crap³...^.^
