How to make boots visible?

My troll to gnome edit works great with the exception of the boots texture, which isn't visible below the ankles for my character. I understand this happens to all shoeless race like tauren, draenei etc. I was wondering if it's possible to fix this at all, preferably in a similar way that misaligned helms are corrected?
