    Extract heightmap as image?

Does anyone know of a way to extract the heightmap from an adt as an image? Ive been searching FOREVER for a way to do this and Ive had no luck. Im planning on using the height map from warsong gulch to recreate warsong in the source engine to be used as a ctf map in team fortress 2. Any help would be VERY appreciated

I tried tallis and it gave me a weird colored image not a heightmap

Edit: I now realize that is a heightmap but its a hex heightmap, Does anyone know how to convert it into a grayscale heightmap?

    That actually is a heightmap.

If you get the colors into hex and then read it as an integer, its the perfect height.

Red (FF, 00, 00) will be high as ****. Blue (00, 00, FF) will be low.

Okay so do you know of anyway to convert that to grayscale? as in red>white
and blue>black? I have to have a grayscale image to use for the displacement of the ground.

Im looking for something like this:
    http://wowexplored.wordpress.com/200...t-exploration/
    more specifically something like this:

heres the picture i got from taliis, but I dont have any way of converting all the reddish colors to dark colors and blueish colors to lighter colors so it really doesnt help at all

Im trying to get something like this as a result:

    Yah, I know its ugly.

I redirected the problem to Tigurius. Maybe he will get you a black&white version.

File-Upload.net - adtplugins.jar put this into your pluginfolder(and make sure you've the latest taliis-rev from the blog!)
    what you'll get is:

(it's the exact display of the heightvalues of the adt as greyscale!)

Thanks for the replies and the help, I tried that plugin and ran the map through a program to create terrain from it, but the image isnt really a true heightmap, do either of you know how to get a high resolution heightmap? something like the one in the image of the adt viewer in my previous post? the guy who made the program removed his downloads so does anyone still have that program?
