Hello i am indeed considered a leacher but i have a request.
Can any one point me in the right way for FREE simple model editing and maybe even custom model creating software?

I would like to start helping the site with simple easy to use model edits/swaps, but i have no clue how and things like 3ds max are to expensave for me at the moment.

In simple the idea i have is from years of WoW Playing.. I have goten bored with vanilla game play and wish to make a Scourge Invasion type of mod.

The idea is an ENTIRE World edit. Re-create Lordaeron and all of that. I might even make my own server for it. It would be World of Warcraft.. The new malinium! It would require a download of basicly a re-modification of WoW its self. I know this would be a hard task and i do have friends who can help me with the project and i would also accept ideas and help from the forum.

I also have an idea for World of Starcraft... Basicly a new mod with the World of Warcraft Client. Set it up so that it is available offline an online. I am more than willing to spend alot of time on it!

So if any one can point me in the right direction or even take up the project for them selfs no problem. I would just like to work on it at home. I know it will take time but.. i have lots of time!

So please help if you can. I know most of you will be like Dude... That would take for ever and even to request it is stupid.. But i have searched the internet for edintg software and all i have goten is crap like Blender and 3ds max. Even though it would be hard as i said i am more than willing to do it.

So a little help would be appriciated.!

i dunno but it sounds like you wanna make a game from a game ? if you'd ask me you should buy a cheap game engine like dark basic pro or neo axis ( or just rip it ) , convert .m2 to .obj , use the textures by extracting them with MWS convert them to jpgs and use them in your game or whatever you wanna make it sounds like really hard and it doesn't worth the time tbh

There are still a lot of typos in it.

The idea is perfect, has been there a lot of times too. But as you say: You don't even have an idea of what a load of work this is. And you have no idea where you'd need to start.

A own server is inevitable for such a project anyway.

On this "World of Starcraft": What the fak? Did you think about that a second? Do you know how WoW is build up? Do you know how much work it would be to get it an offline mode?

"crap like blender and 3ds max.": Its not crap, its the best thing available. That's like calling Photoshop crap.

Think about your great project a bit.
Blizzard took how long to release * of the game? How many people work there? Even a content patch like Ulduar took them about 3 months at last. And they are experienced in such things. You seem to have no clue about anything.

Have fun. You should be a pirate and steal 3dsmax. We'll see, if you ever finish a single model.

I decided against modeling its self..

Im going with Model Swapping.. I have most of the Eastern Kingdoms done Stormwind looks decent in my opinion Unholy Cathedral, Burning Buildings, And undead gaurds.

Thank you for helping me realise what a load of #$%^ I was talking about.

I have droped the starcraft idea.
