Can you change just YOUR character model?

I used one of the changing model guides and it changed ALL the humans to blood elves. All I want is to change MY character model. I dunno if I screwed something up or something.

the guide I followed was from Demonslayer77. All the other guides I found (the sticky'd) ones where outdated kinda.

I think my other topic was deleted, dunno why. There must be information out there on this.

your post was deleted because your question was answered im sure.If you need another answer then no you cant just change your model.Your character uses 1 model.The same model thousands of other players are using.If you change a model then everyone using that model will change to...

I understand that the models are reused. But I find it hard to believe that your specific character model resides solely on the blizz end. Doesn't it load your toon from your local machine? I guess if I'm wrong I'm wrong. That was just my theory.

you dont have a "specific" character model, its the same exact model as everyone elses, when you change the mdoel clientside, when blizzard sends the message "Night elf walking towards you" your model edit makes your client open the bloodelf/whatever model. thats why you cnat change your model alone.

well, if u had the time/will, u could change the specific texture your character is using. but not the model. but then, everybody that had, for example, same beard as you, would also get their beard changed

It's the exact same as any other model change except that you just change your textures.

I'm sorry. I'm just dumb I guess. I don't know how to change the textures. Because my model is the same as thousands of others, how do I know where to look for the right changes.

when I look at the hair.mpq's they're all different. So how do I know which is specific to my model?
