What are the limitations of Model Editing?

    Hey guys,
I figure one or many of you can answer this question pretty simply.

What's the most outrageous model editing possible nowadays?
Seems like most blogs/threads/videos about model editing revolve around altering a mount or changing a character's weapons to look like Warglaives or making characters naked (no complaints here).

Now, what if, say, I wanted my Death Knight to look like Darth Vader to me, for example?

I understand that this could be difficult as there would be a lot of coding to make animations match up, etc. Not to mention finding an already existing 3D model of Darth Vader. I remember seeing this kind of thing in Unreal Tournament quite a while ago. I understand UT was a little less complex than WoW but certainly it could be done, right?

Tell me everything you know! And thank you for knowing more about things than I do.

I'm not an expert, and I might be WRONG. but the limitation of what you can do is what the "WoW Database" has inside. I dont think you can "model swap" to something Blizzard doesn't have in their .MPQ files. So by this logic, you cannot swap DK to Darth Vader until blizzard add it in their files.

You can. As soon as _you_ add it to the files. Thing is just that we don't have the possibilities (public) to import animations to WoW. Therefore no animated Darth Vader for you.
