    Database edit

would it be possible to make a database edit(similar to the race name change) in order to use the deathknight skins on normal characters serverside?

Yes, you can make your charakter look like a DK. You don't even need to change some DBs. Just swap textures.

Thats not what i asked about...
I want to change the db so the game thinks any character is a dk and can use dk skins at character creations so i can make a server side high elf.

clientside you can provoke reactions serverside. widely known. Forexample changing your racename to "High Elf" clientside will make some npc call you high elf serverside. Brutallus forexample, and that new darkfallen boss in kara.

Changes to your locations clientside will count serverside too (commonlym known as xyz hacks), now if we can change the classes in the db to dk so all classes can use the dk skins, then it will send imputs serverside and work...maybe, needs to be tested.

    I see. (http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-ex...g-exploit.html)

Well, I'd love to see this really proven.

If you create a character, the client sends a few IDs of the textures used to the server. If you want to create a "high elf", what exactely do you want? A normal blood elf with other textures, everyone sees? Or what?

Normal blood elf but using the deathknight texture with blue eyes (which seems to be grouped along with normal textures, unlike npc textures which seems to be grouped elsewhere)

As of what I know, this would be impossible to archive serverside.

But well: Try filtering the packets that are sent when creating the character and change the variable of the textureid to something else.
