[Possible?] Making a blank off-hand into a shield with wdb editting?

I was wondering if I could make my offhand which has nothing in it, look like a shield and have my main hand look like a sword.

I'm thinking it won't because I don't have an item to change to make it look like a shield, but I'm not sure of it yet.

For example.

I'm a paladin, using the Axe of Frozen Death from Borean, I change that to lets say, a Quel'Sarrar, is it possible to change my offhand which has nothing in it to a shield?
