Hi,
As i've understood from some other posts, people tend to be to brief when asking for help - so... That's not gonna be the problem here. On the other hand - just skip all the bla. bla. and read the buttom lines...
Some months ago (prior to the 3.0.3 update), i found Andrige's Druid Reskin Pack through YouTube, and was very thrilled about all the incredible new skins now available. Hence 3.0.3 - like most other Model Edits - the pack stopped working properly. But after some time, a new Druid Model Pack was once again released with all the redesigned skins updated and working - all but the one i wanted; The Brown Worgen was nowhere to be found. So i started model editing, just to get it to work - and i was "succesful".
After alot of struggling, and hours of testing, extracting, renaming etc. I managed to Remake the Worgen(!!). It worked. The sound, the run/walk/stealth animations worked. Until - well...
I took a Quel-Danas run to test, and unfortunately, i found some bugs. As i tried to open Chests or use (quest-)items with a cast time, the game simply crashed - and i haven't been able to track down and fix the problem. My knowledge of which files does what is too slim, i'm afraid.
But here's what i did at first, to make the Worgen-skin "work":
1) I used MyWarCraftStudio to extract all the files i needed (The skin from Andrige's old Worgen .blp-design, all the files from the 3.0.3-Worgen (.m2, .skin & .anim).
2) Renamed all the needed files.
3) Saved 'em as a .MPQ-file using MyWarCraftStudio.
4) Extracted the Worgen sound files from the old skin-pack, and saved 'em as a new .MPQ-file.
5) Merged the two files using Glitchy's Model Editing Suite.
6) Ran MWCS once again and all good.
7) Renamed the file (patch-y.MPQ), Ran WoW (normally/without WowME or similar) and the Tauren Druid Worgen seemed to work as it was supposed to.
As i described, the crash only occured when either trying to open chests, gather herbs or using items. Generally, i think, the problem occurs whenever the Worgen-skin is told to swich to a "progress" animation, such as the above mentioned processes requires.
Furthermore, the old skin also had alot of special features, such as emotes (/point, /laugh, /roar etc.). None of those works either. But it doesn't crash the game to try them - at least. The Worgen is just idle.
So my question is this; What am i to do, when a model is short on animations, and during certain things - such as actions which requires the skin to enter a progress-animation - makes the game crash.
I hope to get some replies on this, because i'd hate it if i was to stop the project!
Thanks in advance,
Bill'
PS.
Hence this Model Edit contains files stolen from an already existing model edit, i will not publish it at any time without the original authors permission - Andrige (designer of the Druids of Azeroth).
