Hex Editting in 3.0.3?

I have been using Teh Bacon's guide (http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...-changing.html) for nearly a year and a half but for some reason the wdb's in the World of Warcraft folder are now very small <1kb and contain no information as of the 3.0.3 upgrade. Has anyone found a work around or could suggest another way to edit models for others currently in game? I'm guessing WoWME is my best bet?

I would prefer to continue hex editting but if it doesn't work anymore, there isn't much I can do.
