Converting WoW M2 Models to something readable by Blender3D

    Hey guys,

I'm having a little bit of trouble. I need to be able to make use of WoW models in one of my Blender3D projects. Are there any tools out there that can convert M2 model files (preferably WITH textures) to something that Blender can read/import? The most popular formats that Blender can handle include .3ds, .obj, and .MD2, if that information helps.

I know some may tell me to just use 3DS Max for everything, but I'm actually one of the few interested in modeling that has absolutely no experience with Max. I started out with Blender and it's what I'm best with.

    Thanks!

Hm. One thing you can try is by using glitchy MES.

    Extract model from your MPQ

    Open glitchy

    Open model in M2 > 0BJ converter

    Convert it

    Done.

You lose textures I think or if you are lucky it will recognize and maintain it's UVW map. I can't be bothered to explain things like UVW Mapping since my guide is still pending on it, so you might want to look that up.
