    [Question] Socket Manipulation?

Something I stumbled upon, but havn't yet tried.

I was editing my cache, and I changed my stormherald to "hand of the deceiver."
Because hand of the deceiver is a fist weapon, I needed to change the sheath position, so I went ahead and copy and pasted the large block to change the sheath.
It worked, and when I looked at my stormherald it was displaying the stats for hand of the deceiver, it also displayed the sockets for hand of deceiver.

In short, it let me socket my stormherald. Now, I didn't actually socket my stormherald but it gave me the option to. I'm just cheap and didn't want to spend money on a gem.

Just curious is this just a visual bug, or can i actually add sockets to weapons this way.
Also Im on a mac, its possible this happened becuase of that, no idea.

    anyone else notice this?

    Edit - Took a screenshot.

I tried changing set bonuses in the past and not surprisingly it didn't work. (the text changed but no effect)

I'm guessing it's the same in this case.

You can change how the socket looks, what color they are... but in the end, the check for colors is clientside...

this is just like changing your stats... you'll see it change... but nothing will be really changed.
