Maya 8.5 problem.. .M2 problem

I dont know how to make 3D file with maya 8.5 which i could transfer into .M2 file...
How am i supposed to make 3d file with maya?

And how do i delete soft mods (s) <-- marks safely without causing harm to model?
Also willing to +rep person who helps me ^^

1. Create your custom model
2. Save it as an .obj
3. Open Glitchy's MES
4. Use his converter for obj -> m2

How do you save it as a object? Do you need a Plugin? Does it work with the Personal Learning Edition?
