did you press f8 at the login screen before typing in your name/pw?
yes but it does not seem to do anything
Still need help![]()
Make sure the skin file extension is MPQ not mpq, you might need to right-click --> Properties and check show known file extensions.
Then run WoW from MEF and press F8 at log-in screen and profit.
If these still didn't help you then there is most likely something wrong with the model edit.
Hmm, It was differen't for me. I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition and I had to go to 'Tools' > 'Folder Options...' > 'View' > then I had to un-check 'Hide extensions for known file types.'
Just a different method if Wolfly's doesn't work. Keep in mind that disabling this option will work for any file at any folder. I don't mind about this, I find it kind of useful. :-)

when i press f8 nothin seems 2 happen :s is that normal???
Yep, it's normal. After pressing f8, just log into the game and see if your skins are working or not. Thats the only real way to tell. Make sure you are using the latest version of MEF with the latest version of WoW as well. That might cause it not to work.
Also, if these are your own skins, as in you made them and are applying them to another model, make sure they have the correct treepath to the skin they are replacing. I know I had trouble with that when I first started retexturing things, it's a common mistake and is pretty easy to fix.
could some one send me a link to WoWME in my WoWME my WoWME.CFG doesnt come out when i extract the .rar
I sent you a link, via PM. Try that and see if it works.
Also, when you get that to work, make sure you type your MPQ's name in wowme.cfg, you NEED it to be in there to work. Also, some MPQs with textextext.MPQ will not work. Renaming it to something like patch-(3-9, a-z) will work.
that rar only has a WoWME.exe no WoWME.CFG i have made a new notepad anyway and named it WoWME.CFG (and put it in my wow folder) and put my filename in there "HighElfNE.MPQ" and it still doesnt work
Try renaming that MPQ to something like "patch-0.MPQ" Sometimes MPQs with names in them won't work until renamed to something like that. It happened with one of my textures before. Try that and see if theres any difference.
it worked ^_^ +Rep but now how do i have multiple skins working at once?? like should i put in a enter in the WoWME.CFG???
You just add it below the MPQ you put in wowme.cfg, press enter and type your MPQ in. You can have just about as many patches as you want on at a time as long as other patches/MPQs don't interfere with it(EX: having a night elf to tauren MPQ and night elf to blood elf MPQ on at the same time)
