What is the extension of the file that you are trying to open?

If it's an MPQ, just put it into your data folder and get the Model Edit Fix.

If you want to edit an MPQ, then you will need My Warcraft Studio.

I think the file is a .rar file. Make sure you have winrar downloaded and installed

It's very easy to use. Here are the instructions from the readme:

As per usual, all edits must be in patch-X.MPQ(MPQ MUST BE IN CAPS) prefix.

    1) Run WoW with WoWME.exe
    2) Once you reach the login screen, hit F8 to restore changes & unload DLL
    3) Login
    4) Have fun

I usually put it in my WoW root folder. I'm not sure if this is necessary, but I'd advise it. Put the patch in your data folder. Launch WoW through WoWme.exe and it should work.

    Happy Editing!

Ok, i put the patch-6.MPQ file in my data folder. << from the male undead folder from the horde to horde race edits
Then i put WoWme in the root wow folder.
    ran wow through wowme.
hit F8 at the login screen, logged in on my character and he is still showing up as a blood elf.

Are you sure it's Blood Elf -> Undead and not Undead -> something else.

If that doesn't work, you can try downloading a different model edit. That one could be broken, I'm not sure.

Try to get this one to work.

It's Orc Male to High Elf and shows up at the character creation screen. I got it to work yesterday. I know it's not what you are looking for, but let's see if it works:
    patch-A.zip

Ok, I'm glad we figured that out. Now you know how to use model edits. Hopefully, you can find some that you like. There are lots on these forums.

    Yes, most likely.

Make sure that the p in patch is not capitalized. Make sure that the .MPQ is capitalized. If that doesn't work, then it is most likely broken. You can get a rough edit using this program:
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...chy-s-mes.html

A perfect race swap is very difficult. It requires you to edit the DBCs and also make sure that all the paths are correct.

    Good Luck!
