    [Request] Pyro/Death coil model -> infernal stone

    After I saw http://www.mmowned.com/forums/simple...nal-stone.html I was wondering if any model editer with some free time could make pyroblast's and death coils model into the infernal stone as seen in the already done edit, to see the bolt come -> better reactions :P Will definitely +rep if you could help

    Missile Model Change

    Right so this is my first response and I'm a bit of a newbie, but I've been working a little on this for a while and I think I can help you out id you're up for a little .dbc editing. If I'm reading your request correctly, you simply want to change the missile model which pyroblast and deathcoil use. The easiest way to do this is to find the spell numbers for deathcoil and pyroblast from thottbot or other equivalent site. Start by opening up the spell.dbc and SpellVisualEffectName.dbc in a viewer, and SpellVisual.dbc in an editor, since this is the one you will edit. Use the numbers in the spell.dbc and look up the spellvisual.dbc number in column 119. GO to that number in the spellvisual.dbc and in field 8 is the number for the model which is used for the missile. Look up what model you want to use in the SpellVisualEffectName.dbc and change the number to that which you desire. In the SpellVisualEffectName.dbc, the missile models are all preceded by Missile: id est, Missile: Infernal Ball
    Having already worked on this and written down some of the numbers I'll post them here now. There are 3 sizes of Infernal Ball, normal 2X and 5X their numbers are 1X=3064 2X=3212 and 5X=3142, in the spellVisualEffectName.dbc. Since you won't be editing each spell individually just the visual part, you only need one spell# Deathcoil=6789 and Pyroblast=11366 in the spell.dbc. Find field 119 and follow the steps above and you should get the desired results. Save it to a new .mpq file and run it like you would any other model edit. I would do it for you, and still will if asked, but I think that if you try it yourself you'll get a better understanding of the files and be able to make other changes which you like as well. Sorry for making this a little long and probably excessively simple, I just want to be thorough. I hope this is what you were looking for.

    Edit: it seems field 8 doesn't contain any missile value, in the whole .dbc its always just 0 1 or 2, any chance you could have been mistaken in which field I have to look in the spellvisual.dbc for the missile value?
    Edit2: lol I just opened the .mpq previously made, the frostbolt change, looked for Spells/Frostbolt.m2 renamed it to PyroBlast_Missile.m2 and copied+renamed CeathCoil_Missile.m2, packed a new .mpq with those 2 files in Spells/ and it worked like a charm, yay. Thanks for your help either way, +rep'ed you, I prefer changing the models over dbc editing anyway x)
    Edit3: hmm it seems the model didn't work out well :/ could you perhaps make the .mpq for me or look if the field 8 is correct

    .mpq mod

    It's possible I was wrong about the field, if it's not 8 exactly, it's close to that. As I read it you'll have a 1 indicating that a missile is used followed by the number in the VisualEffectName. Unfortunately the site I was using seems to be down right now sourcepeek.com, though I believe there is a similar yet less extensive collection on this site.
    In the spellVisual.dbc Pyroblast is 2253 from 119 in spell.dbc

    2253,30,38,286,0,0,1,1179
    1179 is the # you need to change

    Try it one more time, in the meantime, I will make the mod for you, but I'll try to do the whole thing in a .dbc edit so you won't need the other animation mod. Just confirm exactly what I am moding and an email to send it to. You want me to change the hand casting effects on pyroblast and deathcoil to Shamanistic Rage, and the missile to the infernal boulder right? What size of missile did you want?

    P.S. missed something

    Since Pyroblast and Deathcoil are Fire and Shadow Spells, if you're going to change model, you'll have to change the fire and shadow cast and precast hand. I'm not sure which is used for the spells so you'll have to either change all of them or find which one they use. Moreover, every fire and shadow spell will have the shamanistic rage animation, NPCs included, that's why I tried .dbc editing. Anyway I should have it finished in a few days after testing, tinkering and whatnot.

    Thanks for the replies, I'll PM you my email but its quite simple what I want, I don't want the shamanistic rage hands, just a size 5X Infernal Stone missile on Pyro and death coil, to see it come much better and ice block it more efficiently . Btw once you are done release it in the model edit section I'm sure other people would want it as well.
