When I go to change one item to another, sometimes an item won't be in the "from" section, but they will be in the "to" section.

For example, I want to change my Shaman's Fist of Reckoning to the S3 1H Mace, but Fist of Reckoning isn't in the "from" box.

Any insight?

i don't know why this happens, but you can use your armory link to import your items directly, and change them like normal =) Just make sure you logout with the item you want to change so it will be up in the armory, or find another player who currently have it equiped and change it from his profile =)

Well, that's what I did.

I loaded the armory for my shaman, clicked on the shoulders, and it just said End of List.

Same thing happened for my weapons.

The "from" list is uploaded from your itemcache. Only the items in your itemcache are displayed in it. To get an item into your itemcache (and also in the "from" aka left list) is to encounter that item in-game. That can be by inspecting, linking, auction house or whatever.
