Undead mage ->> To Lich

Hi, i was working on that some hours, tryed to change my undead mage character like a Lich, like Ras Frostwhisper from scholomance, for first i ve tried to change basic model , i ve extracted the lich m2 and bl , from the creature folder and then rename it to scourge male etc. Then i ve extracted a scourge male file and save it. Now i ve put back the modified file with lich renamed to scourge male, i ve opened the game and my character looked messy :-(( anyone know ho to change it, so i can play for lich? And if its not possible can i change water elemental to look like another creature?dreadlord,gargoyle etc... ?:confused:
