    [Question] 2.4.2 Model Edits

Anyone else having problems with model edits not working after 2.4.2?

Ive tried almost everything I can think of and have browsed forums to see if other people are having this problem.

Guess I should have been more specific.

When I log in with the 2.4.2 MEF none of my models change. I know for a fact I am not doing anything wrong but they just dont seem to be working.

I put the ME in my data folder and add the stuff in wowcfg folder. I log in and nothing happens.

I'm having a similar problem. I change items around usin latest Glitchy MES and when I load up WoWME and login, there's been no changes. Worked fine in 2.4

So, you put your ME Fix into your Datafolder?
That's wrong. Put the whole Files from the ziparchive into your WoW Folder (i.e. C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft).
Maybe this should solve your problem.

On topic, most of my Modelchanges work just the Race2Race File freaks me out. It just happend suddenly, while my Guild was raiding M'uru, where I got disconnected server Times. So, I had to unload my Nightelf2Bloodfile MPQ, than I was able to continue raiding :L

I guess this is why you're a guest.
He put the model edit aka the .mpq file into the data folder, added it to cfg and booted up but not working.

Also, I'm unable to change S3 longbow into Black Bow of the Betrayer with Glitchy's MES for some reason. Has worked earlier.

If WoWME doesn't show any changes, then check if the files are still there (recent patches deleted them) and make sure the file ending is MPQ, not mpq.

    Also.

WoW 2.4.2 has a severe problem with Model-Edits, because 2.4.2 has updated it's playermodels...not sure if animations or whatever, but...

using the old models, when you use a certain melee special attack or get critically hit, the game crashes immediately.

I had to remove all, and even now, while only using minimal custom content (different character voices, highelf skin for bloodelves) the game STILL crashes in combat...and even if the character i'm playing has nothing to do with the edits.

It could be possible that 2.4.2 has some counter-measures against WoWME, or that WoWME is flawing some code...i'm not sure about that, needs more testing.

    EDIT: hmmmm...
    WoW Forums -> Windows - No Disk; Error #132 - 26+ Crashes
This one is affecting me now aswell maybe it's related.

Model Edit Fix goes into your WoW folder, not the data directory. Make sure all of your patches go in the sequence of patch-*.MPQ. Replace the * with any symbol, and make SURE that the .mpq is capital. Here goes what I do for the detection for WoWME.

    • Look in your WoW folder for a file called scan.dll. Erase everything inside of it and set it to Read-Only.
    • Start up WoW, let it load, then close it again. Go you your WoW folder.
    • There will be a file in there now call scan.dll.new. Erase everything inside of it and set it to Read-Only. Delete the original scan.dll.

If you did all of that, it should work. That's at least what I did, anyway, and it's working fine.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I don't know if you're already doing this, but make sure that you launch WoW with WoWME, and not WoW.exe or Launcher.exe.
