Beginner needs help! Gladiator's Greatsword > Cataclysm's Edge

Im a beginner with model edits.
So if someone would like to help me with wepon swap that would be awsome.

to the point:
Gladiator's Greatsword ---> Cataclysm's Edge

Ok, so for this model, heres what you do;

First up, make a folder on your desktop, and call it swords (or something such), create a text document in here, and in your own words, document all the steps you do here as you do them, because it will help you if you ever want to change back, or change other models, consider this Text1

Open up WoW Model Viewer (latest version can be found at WoW Model Viewer ), and select your character, and put the gladiators sword in its right hand, then select View> Show Model Control, and that should open a little box, in that box, theres a drop down list, which should list the name of the models (only works for helm/shoulders and weapons, other clothes are more difficult), take note of the model name, because its what youll be searching for soon. Repeat for cataclysms edge.

Open up MyWarCraftStudio (MyWarCraftStudio.rar if you dont already have it), and open Common.mpq (its in World of Warcraft/Data folder)

Open another text file, and consider it Text2

On the left, you should see a list of files, find these files:

Gladiators
Item\ObjectComponents\Weapon\Sword_2H_Raid_D_06.blp
Item\ObjectComponents\Weapon\Sword_2H_Raid_D_06.m2

These are the files associated with Gladiators Greatsword

When you select these (and they must be selected, simply right clicking wont do), right click then and copy treepath, and paste the treepaths into Text2 (Ive already posted the treepaths just above here, so yours should look the same)

These are the treepaths for the Cataclysms Edge, you dont need to copy these, but you need to find these files, and select them, and then right click them and select "Extract File to...." and then save them to the folder on your desktop you named Swords (you should have 1 blp and 1 m2 file)

Item\ObjectComponents\Weapon\Sword_2H_Raid_D_04.blp
Item\ObjectComponents\Weapon\Sword_2H_Raid_D_04.m2


Ok, so youve got the treepaths and names of the gladiators sword, and youve got the files of the cataclysms edge, so now go into the folder on your desktop, and rename the Cataclysms Edge files to the names of the Gladiators Greatsword files

Next, go back into MyWarCraftStudio, and Select Pack>Create MPQ Archive, and call it patch-7.MPQ (caps is important for the .MPQ, and i start at 7 just incase blizz ever decides to fill past 2 patches ), and save it in your Swords folder

Now, go Pack > Add File to Archive, and browse and select the files in the Swords folder. Before you click OK, you have to set its treepath, so go back to Text2, and copy the treepath before the file names, and paste it in front, once youve done this for both files, you can go Pack > Save and Exit

Once your confident youve followed all these steps, transfer this new .MPQ file into your Data folder, and next time you open up the game, you should see a cataclysms edge instead of a gladiators greatsword!
