M2 editing Pros, I need your eyes!

OK check this out. I was messing around with wowmodelviewer and lo and behold look what I see...

I just posted these pics on the druid forum, but I want you guys to help me out here. Is it possible to move that hit box? Make it bigger? flip it 90 degrees? I mean finally, there it is, proof that the cat form hit box is a freaking disaster and I'm NOT crazy with all the out of range shit!

I don't think you can move the hitbox mate, that would make WoW so much easier.. Just make the hitbox HUGE and solo mobs yards away.. afaik this can only be done by Blizzard And posting Model edit stuff on Blizzards forums aint that smart mate?

I think the easiest thing to do might be to physically move the cat model back a few pixels, so the hitbox actually resides on his face... maybe.

I'm not asking to make the hitbox 50 yards wide. I'm asking to move the hitbox one foot forward, so that it sits over our heads, instead of our shoulders. Until you've played a feral druid, and remember we have NO WAY to slow people down whatsoever, you cannot understand the frustration that it is to have your auto-attack work and yet all you get as you mash and spam your mangles and shreds is a barrage of "Out of Range" on your screen...

For the asswipes ready to tell me to learn to play... Save it. I know how to play just fine. I kick ass in BGs. Everybody knows that ferals are sad in arenas. This isn't a thread about how you think "every class has to respec, go resto to win arena" dur dur dur.

This is about fixing a broken model that UNFAIRLY gimps feral druids. If Blizzard would either FIX this freaking hitbox, or give us a 20%-30% slowing effect on targets, ferals would suddenly be good in arenas. We wouldn't be OP, we would have a chance just like everyone else does. Right now, we dont because we simply CANNOT MAINTAIN ANY KIND OF DPS AND THEREFORE CANT BURN DOWN TARGETS FAST ENOUGH.

And don't tell me to shift to bear, charge, bash, cyclone, etc... I ALREADY do that but guess what? I run out of mana way too fast. Roots? lol what a joke, most of the time it breaks from it's own dmg, and it's not a viable way to slow down people, since again, the moment I hit them, they're free again. Besides, I lose all my energy/rage and do ZERO dmg when I'm casting roots. Oh yeah, I have that shit roots that procs when you're getting hit, but that's more a defensive ability when you're getting your ass beat.

As far as getting banned for model editing, you know what? At this point they can go ahead and ban me. It would be the answer I needed to hear i.e. "Yeah the hitbox is broken, but we don't care, we're not gonna fix it, good job figuring out it's broken, enjoy your ban, but feel free to spend more money on another copy of WoW and TBC sucker!"

I am so pissed off right now. I always knew this was jacked to hell, but ACTUALLY seeing the hitbox where it is... wow, just wow!

I know how to swap models, how to swap skins, but this type of manual model editing, where you'd have to use professional modeling tools and applications is beyond me. Trust me, I'm going to be looking into it though. I have ADHD, which sucks a lot, but one of the upsides of having ADHD is when I get interested in something, I soak up knowledge like a sponge. I promise you, if we have the ability to use 3DSmax or w/e else is out there, to move this piece of shit hitbox, I WILL figure it out and I WILL do it.

I do think it IS possible for us to do it, since it showed up in wowmodelviewer, but maybe that part of the model can only be manipulated with proprietary Blizzard software/tools.

Nothing you can do as far as the Hitbox goes. If you move the cat and try it in-game you'll see what happens =) ( it might help you visualize where your hitbox is though.

Using a 3d tool like Autodesk 3ds max, you can move / resize / do pretty much anything with the model - I've never tried moving it, (its up to you to experiment with that ) but i think, if you moved your cat backwards a bit, your camera would stay at the same place * looking at the hitbox * and your cat would be a bit behind your camera center. In the end you'd probably get exactly what you're looking for.

Just look for Model Injection on the forums - its the same tool that they use. There's also quite a few guides.

O.o wait, if i'm understanding this tool right... Would this allow me to resize my cat form to say, the size of an epic mount kitty? I've always wanted to do that, tried to do it with dbc edits but got nowhere.
