    [Custom sword] Dark Matter Blade







    Welcome to the release thread of this sword that took forever
    to get to work. Ill be updating more versions as I go, but for
    now this will do.

    Also this weapon would never got into WoW if it wasn't for Tigurius so be sure to give him some love aswell.

    To use this sword you will have to make your own patches or edit the one i made. I do not take any requests on making Patches for WoW.
    The texture file "dmt.blp" and "HELLFIRE.blp" should be in your in your patch the same way as they are in the patch provide.

    1- download the version you want
    2- extract the rar file
    3- have some kind of mpq editor (i use the one mentioned on lex his guide. check link above)
    4- open the patch provide
    5- go into the folder all the way down to weapon ( Item>objectcomponents>WEAPON)
    6- click and press rename on the m2 and skin files and rename then to whatever sword you want in game for example i used the naxx tanking sword.
    so i changed the orginal m2 file to: sword_1H_naxxramas_d_01.m2
    and changed the skin file to: sword_1H_naxxramas_d_0100.skin
    7- close the mpq editor
    8- rename the patch to something like "patch-x" and copy it into the wow Data folder
    9- ??????
    10- Profit

    This model is made in maya and edited in 3dsmax
    The texture was painted in Photoshop 7
    It has 1580 polygons
    total time spend probably around 30-50 hours

    Ive been using model editing since about late 2008, Through the two years ive been doing this, This is the best custom model edit I have ever seen. +Rep Definintly.

    I know you've been working on this for a LONG time and I'm glad you've finally completed such an excellent piece of work. Just goes to show that when you truly invest your time in something, you can create spectacular results!

    First of all, great model I'm very pleased to see a FFish type weapon model with such detail - Excellent job.

    My question lies in how are you getting this texture to work? I'm trying to skin bryntroll. Texture information from what I've found is in

    "ITEM\ObjectComponents\Weapon\Axe_2H_IcecrownRaid_D_02Blue.blp"

    I however noticed there is a blue,green,red, and white color type. Wasn't sure what that meant so I used blue because it looks very similar to the weapon base color.

    I created several different model types:

    One file with Skin,M2,dmt.blp
    One file with Skin,M2 + Another file with dmt.blp
    One file with skin,M2 + Another file with [dmt.blp + renamed dmt.blp]

    None of these situations seemed to rectify my green textureless sword. Any ideas as to why? Thanks.

    Here you can download a version with animated texture and ParticleEffects.
    It's an alpha but you might get a suspicion how it will look in the end.

    just import the texture into root folder of your patch and leave it there.

    so within the patch it would be for you

    dmt.blp
    Item/ObjectComponents/WEAPON/Axe_2H_IcecrownRaid_D_02.m2
    Item/ObjectComponents/WEAPON/Axe_2H_IcecrownRaid_D_0200.skin
