I may be interested in paying once cata is out for some tools for wmo,adt,m2 -> 3dsmax, bsp->photoshop and back again (AFAIK nothing can convert back to wmo adt etc from 3dsmax)
3dsmax doesn't interest me, since I don't use it.
well it should because it can export lwo files so you would only need a friend with 3d max to convert to and from wmo, you edit and send back to them to publish for your wow, I'm very interested in such a process like import/export filter and have funds for the completed source and binary implementations.
3ds and lightwave do not play well with each other, and every transfer of lightwave>max or vice versa has introduced problems that a direct lightwave>m2 converter wouldn't have.
I want to preserve geoset names, bone weights, transparent vertices, etc.
And besides, I don't want to rely on having someone else handle my exporting.
And I'm sick of lightwave basically being shunned by developers, just because autodesk now has bought out 3/4 of the 3d software market.
okay investigate writing a lightwave plugin yourself, if it works from wmo->lwo and back ill probably donate funds, I like lightwave but I also use 3dmax and maya (which is killing my cash flow atm having so much legal software)
Well, it would be wmo to LWS(the scene format), because LWO is equivalent to an m2 skin file(a mesh with geosets and weights) while an lws contains lights and subobjects(and optionally bones).
EDIT: that was just for clarification, btw- I definitely appreciate the support, thanks!
