Im using windows 8.1 and theres no need for compatibility mode here. But glad if it solved your problem.

yeah, it was very weird - it worked once for me, following the steps - then just stopped.... run it in compatibility mode and it works every time.. gotta love PC's and their nuances.
also - just want to say, big thanks - I had the names by manually converting each m2 to obj, but it was painfully slow. You guys are lifesavers.
Seems to be working here. Nice work! May I ask how it works internally? Is it just hooking the Casc API's directly?
After some research, the file_list appears to be very incomplete, lacking a lot of dungeon textures and .skins for the models...Very sad.

gurluas - yeah... need to write script or make program for file_list generation...
Actually, there is another way that also works. You can open m2s and wmos in 010editor, then copy the texture filepaths to the filelist. As for skins...Just guess, a skin simply adds two digits after a filename. So... apple01.m2, would become apple0100.skin, and if it has two skins it'd be apple0101.skin So always add a couple of extra skins just incase, the extractor won't extract what wasn't there.

Ran this overnight, extractor got stuck at some point. How about a progress label?
@akspa: Yes, it uses the functions from wow
@gurulas: You can extended or even gerenate your own maybe more complete list by starting with the files you have. You can make a program that parses all adt, wmo, m2 for textures, the adt for wmo and m2, the wdt/wdl für adts, the dbc for spell, create, go and item models. Skins and wmo group files can also be obtained from the m2 or wmo directly.
@Xel: Yea, i first thought about creating a progress but that makes it a lot slower. will create an updated version that lets you choose if youd like to have some progress indicator.
Instead of a Progress indicator how about an indicator telling you whether it's finished, ran into an error, is working, or couldn't start.
Does all of this. Errors -> messagebox, working -> progress ring, finished -> progress ring gone, launch button active again. Added a version two download with progress indication.
There's an updated listfile in the wilds with 426367 valid file names.
Using Windows 8.1 too and did not have to use compability mode either.
Hey, do you know how I use these files I extracted into an mpq file? I really want to use these files for wow model viewer :S
Hi,
I have an issue working the program. When I hit "Launch", there's an error message :
"Unabelt to launch extractor (hModRet == null)
Could you help me please ?
