Can you upload the mpq files? Unlike many of you i do not have the time to do in depth searches in the midst of the world of warcraft data folders.

If you can upload the files needed it would be extremely helpful for people like me, even do it in a PM or something. I just dont have the time with work and school.

    Re: Programmer Island

Pack is a function in MWCS, batch renamer is a program used to change the names of files extremely fast.

To the next post, I work and attend college full time, and told you exactly where the files are, there is no diggin in the data folder or seaching for anything. Like i said its a 5 minute model change and 20 minute zep ride there, literally the change is fast enough that to link and download it would be slower than you doing the work yourself. Everything was stated where it was and what extensions to use. I even gave you the treepath of where to place the files after its been renamed. Exploration requires time, and devotion, and I'm sorry but that is something I will stick by for anything I post.

    Re: Programmer Island

Okay, Batch Renamer: You should see a list somewhere of you drives. C, D, E, F w/e Your gonna wanna find where you extracted the "development" to.
In my case it was C>ProgramFiles>WorldofWarcraft>Data>Development. It should at this point display all the development .adt files.

From there you need to tell it what is going to be replaced. In this case, development.. So in the box were it says replace: Use this "development" (Cases sensative) and in the box were it says With: or something to that extent type "Kalimdor" then just Go! should rename all the files.

As an alternative slower but still equally useful method just rename all the files manually... In every file rename the development part to Kalimdor and your ready to go its just a bit slower.

    Good luck,
    -Somethingcool

I'm going to save Somethingcool the trouble and tell you to read through the entire GM Island - 1.12 thread that's stickied. If you read through it you'll understand it all, because as it is, these questions are already totally answered there.

Well, what is the file type? Now that you know that what do you use to edit that file type? Look it up.

Lol thanks to the person who saved me some trouble, much appreciated.

To that quote. If you've truly read it all i believe on page 10 there is a guide of EXACTLY and im not being mean or anything but it literally tells you step by step what to do, the ONLY thing different is the coords that you are going to plug in.

And being the nice guy i am, and wanting you to actually accomplish this, Ill even tell you those. 16267, 16356, 135 will take you right were you wanna go. And to be sure im clear yes, those are in a "x,y,z" format already, no need to change any numbers from those.

"I dont even know how to add it to my MPQ file I made" as clearly stated already they CANNOT be in the same mpq in this particular method. Soooooo I dont understand that one. Read more closely if the GM island thread really didnt help.

I'm sorry if that comes off as rude but this is a place to teach others, and share ideas. Its very simple, its like at most a 5 minute model edit.
    Keyword there bolded...

    Not just to share ideas.

If a mother bird is teaching a wingless bird to fly, its not going to turn out well. Its not just about telling how some people have the abilty to do it, but, indeed sharing all aspects, and if someone cant get it, its about giving them what they need to do so.
