Real life armor from in game

So I don't know how many people are aware of this since I just stumbled (literally on Stumbleupon) onto building armor from game files. This is a pretty unique idea and has anyone here actually done this kind of thing?

I must be the only one who seriously thinks this is cool stuff. lol.... This is the guy I think who made the helmet from model edits and a special program to lay it out on paper. The whole thing is friggin paper!

I have no artistic abilities either but I was browsing his blog the other week and saw he started the project back up, been waiting to see how the helmet would turn out and it looks done to me. But in his post he says the helmet is 95% done.. anyways, virginity or not I hate him for being artsy. haha

Forgot to ask, has anyone worked with pepekura before? The site he advertised on is down now, and he hasn't responded to my message on Google+ on where to get started. Advice?
