    Testing something.

Hey, can someone be willing to help me with something? put this into your world of warcraft/cache/wdb/enUS(or w/e)
get a fishing rod, if it's thunderfury, success, if not, fail.
i tried sending my friend a changed itemcache.wdb and it didn't work for some reason. also, i'm pretty sure you have to use the modeledit fix.

when you change itemcache files you dont need to use modeledit.exe, and personly you can test yourself :/ i dont think any1 will even test this for you

    Re: Testing something.

When I copy my own Itemcache file after it's been edited, and then paste the new copy over the original (which is exactly the same) the Itemcache is reset. I log on to WoW and there are no changes. Look up to the file that I just pasted over and rather than being what it was before I logged on, it is completely reset. I assume this is what happens if you try to upload and then download also...

thing is, when i sent the edited itemcache.wdb to my mate it didn't work, but seeing as he sent it to me over msn i opened it with my hex editer while it was in my recieved files. i don't know though. = /
just trying to figure out if it's possible to change my mate's gear by him sending me his itemcache, editing it, then sending it back.

You need to accturly log OUT of wow before editing / saving your changes or they dont work if you logged in wow it will save the original codes so items wont change
