Hey, I was trying to edit a Goblin Female > Scourge Male, and it didn't really work too well, but I got something better instead...
An undead Goblin!

If you think this is a failure, I suggest you go download some of the race changes you see out on first page, I mean comon... Its basically untextured hair with some broken face features.
I don't even know why I spent the time typing this to a leacher though

Don't look down on others. Besides that if you are talking about the Race to Race request thread then you are right that the face is broken, that's because the edits aren't perfect. Perfect edits are too difficult to make. If you'd like to make them, i'll rep you x5. And if you call that thread a model edit failure, than i don't know what this is. KKthnxbai

I'm not calling that thread a failure, it is just that some files from it don't change the model of your character just then skin when it's meant to be a model swap

I'd recommend you to ask for a re-edit. Which edit do you want for instance?
Btw editing is really easy.
If you are A and you want to be B you do this:
DBC: Change A to B and not B to A. So Human Female -> Troll Male, you need to replace the Character/HUMAN/Female/HumanFemale.mdx with Character/Troll/Male/TrollMale.mdx
Files: Remove all ANIM / SKIN and m2 files, so you got .blp left. Rename all .BLP files you got to A.
In short: DBC = A to B, Files = B to A.
Btw dont forget to rename the folders. B to A.
So i hope that you wont make weird edits next time, although it looks funny.

I know, I've already changed my own TrollFemale -> worgen female via a the same guide the guy is using in that thread, but I get the exact same result, It only doesn't seem to work with goblin model

Model swaps are more perfect if done through model id swaps instead of file swaps. To switch races more perfectly, go to CharRaces.dbc and just get the model row for the race you want to swap for and put it in the model row of the race you want to swap out. Then you won't get the wierd amount of bugs and face cracks since it reads the Model as the original file of wow, not a overwrite.

Btw, I take back what I said on another thread, Undead don't fit all races! Ewwww. But still swaped what you intended to. No rep for bad choice but I'll keep an eye out for your work.

Think you could give me some pointers on this as to which is the model row? It just gives field 1/2 etc so I don't know which to switch, I tried to switch all of them but it removed that race from the character cration menu :/

You need to open it as a readable file, get DbcUtil for that. Open it then and the 5th and 6th entry are the Male and Female Models ( a,5,f- A is first entry, 5 is second and so on) Male is 5th, 6th female
