Use a pre-made sward, edit it how you want, then edit the blp (There are guides on that too i beleive)

Re: How to edit your WoW Models

Im still in need a reverse convert script. One that takes .max fils and turns them into .m2. I know it exists somewhere, and if anyone has it I'd be very thankful.

Re: How to edit your WoW Models

I'm having a problem with texturing any models i put into 3ds max, and ofcourse the reverse convert script is needed too. My aim is to supply a model with special animations.

Can you insert custom models with collision? Like, could you make your own spiral staircase or something with collision so that you could climb it, or is collision not something you can manipulate?

WARNING : YOU CAN DO THIS IF YOU JUST WANT TO MESS AROUND BUT I ADVISE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH 3DS MAX SHOULD USE IT.

    Anyway, heres what you do.

    1. Download 3DS MAX (Cant be bothered to find a link. Google it and you can get a trial DL or if you are one of those super cool underground people you can go get the full thing somewhere)

    2. Extract your Files. Same as model changing....Make your folders in WoW/Data and extract the files you want to edit.

    3. Download this script used for importing .m2 files into 3DS MAX and put it in your 3DS Max/Scripts folder.
    Download Here

    4. Open up 3DS MAX

    5. Go to MAXSCRIPTS (Should be a dropdown menu somewhere along the top)

    6. Open up WoWM2Import.ms

    7. Look for a line like this (Should be at the top)

    Code:
    eg. -- GLOBALS AND STRUCTURES

    global filename = "c:\\tmp\\BoneGolem.m2"
    8. Replace "c:\\tmp\\BoneGolem.m2" with the exact path of the M2 you want to edit.

    9. Go to file and click "Evaluate All"

    10. Only click evaluate all ONCE...The model appears really small so you just need to zoom in alot.

    11. Enjoy, I have made alot of cool customised models using this.
    Thanks.
