[Model Swap] Gryphon, Wyvern, & More Mounts -> Undead Pegasus

Yea, I'm looking at the Gryphon one right now, and there doesn't seem to be anything inside the MPQ Archive. I have it opened with MyWarcraft Studio right now, and I see no file list, no DB file.. nothing.

I would love for this to just replace the lame DK Ebon mount. I would do it myself, but I can't seem to see any information despite the file size being 3mb. :3

There seems to be some glitches in the patches I've made. If you use the Gryphon patch, any gryphon flight path will be messed up (You're flying on an invisible gryphon with visible wings, lol) maybe the same with wyvern too. I'm working on trying to fix this. Also I want to try to change the sounds to Invincible's sounds too. Oh, and the footprints are wrong on any of the patches where the original mount isn't a horse type. Working on this will be slow because of the holidays =P

If you don't want to wait and want to try to make your own mount to Invincible patch, here's how:
1:Find the files related to the mount that you want to change. Easiest way is to go into WoW Model Viewer, find your mount's model, click File -> Export Texture, and then copy down what's on the drop down list there.
2:Use an MPQ Editor to extract the Invincible files (everything inside patch2.mpq -> Creature -> WingedHorse)
3:Change the names of all the extracted files from Invincible to have the same names as the target mount's files. (Like change wingedhorse.m2 to gryphon_mount.m2) Most mounts have multiple textures (.blp) for each model(.m2), which are different colors for the same model. You can tell because they will have something like _Green in between the model name and the .blp. Unless you want to see people running around on invisible mounts, you should change ALL of the textures related to that model. Just copy & paste the file that used to be WingedHorse.blp once for each extra texture, and simply rename those files to the correct names for the old mount (Like Gryphon_Skin01White.blp, Gryphon_Skin01Black.blp, and Gryphon_Skin01.blp). If you have extra files, which you most likely will for the animation(.anim) files and WingedHorseWings.blp, just swap out the WingedHorse part for the target model's name (the name of the file with the .m2 extension).
4:After doing all of that renaming, go back to the mpq editor and create a new mpq (the correct name for any patch you make has to be the word patch, lower case, followed by any alphabetical letter capitalized, and end with .mpq, lower case. If you don't, then it won't work in-game). Add each of the files and make sure that they have the correct paths for the model that they're replacing. (Example: Gryphon files should go in Creature -> Gryphon folder) If the path is incorrect, the patch simply won't work.

Works this mount swap in the patch 3.1.3 too? My wyvern was transformed into Pegasus, but the Pegasus is green .

Could you please do the Fiery Warhorse >> Winged Horse please?
It'd be cool to be able to use Invincible in Azeroth too.
Also, the sound and footprint bug is not related to any bug when you make your patches. It is related to the skeleton and animations it does. Compare Invincible's animations to the Hippogryph Mount animations. They are almost the same.

Could you make one that just does the Ebon Blade mount? (See my post above) There seems to be no info in it when I open the MPQ in MyWarcraft Studio. Thank you!

Disregard my previous post as I have found out how to do this edit on my own.
If you want to edit ANY mount to look like the Winged Horse download the program "MPQEditor." Open up Patch-J and create a new folder (the file name of the mount you want to change I.E. "FelHorse.")
Next, copy the files from the Gryphon Folder (I'd recomend only doing one set of the files, like only pull the "GryphonArmoredSkeletal" set from that folder) And rename the prefix "GryphonArmoredSkeletal" to "FelHorseEpic."
If this was done correctly you should see all of the Fiery Warhorses as Invincible.

While browsing through the MPQ's, I ran accross this Undead Pegasus looking mount, and thought it would be cool as hell to swap it with my pally's mount! The only problem that I can tell is that his hoofprints are still gryphon's chicken feet. Name in the mpq is WingedHorse.
Thanks to werdz for revealing the mount's name. She is the Lich King's own Invincible.
