    [Wip] Minor sword model

    It has been awhile since I have even used 3ds max so models still look abit lame --_--
    So far I have done the basic things into it and now I am working on the handle.
    Story behind this sword is still unknown, but I will most likely write something about it when i finish it, but the basic idea was that as you know we already have one thunder based sword so why not make a fire based one? O_O

    This is how far I am currently:
    v. 1.00

    v.1.1

    So comments wanted what I should change in it (meaning size of spike/sharpen the spike etc)
    Also if you know great guides for 3ds max i would be appreciated to see 'em

    Will keep updating this thread when I do it more xD

    Looks like a Blood elf sword.. but it would be nice if you change the "Blade" on it, for now its looks like you have use it against some hard metal bar or something so you don't get this on this on the blade "_|-|_|-|_|-|__>" if you know what i mean but otherwise it looks good

    well actually it doesn't even have blade yet, just the handle and part which protects your hand xD

    Updated btw
    Blade part is actually supposed to be really light and now i am trying to do some animation which would make it to be in the flames.

    But i have a question.. how do i change that flat area to more interesting? I used Bevel on the hand guard so if i try to poke a hole into there it just goes bad ;(

    This looks really cool.. The blade just seems too wide to me, but i don't know how big is that sword afterall.. keep it up

    Well, its a realy nice sword but rember this is wow, not some HD trailer, that sword got as much poly as a big part of SW...If you do this another time, try makeing it a bit lower poly :P

    Looks really nice, what about some graphics ontop of the blade to make the surface a bit less boring...

    Sorry for dump question.. what is poly in this situation? xD
    Cause i haven't actually touched it cause I used line tool to create those parts
    and oh.. i do have texture ready already, I just putted those colors to make it look better than just plain gray ;#

    Poly is...uhm, hard to explain...Zoom in closely, see all those squares? 1 sqaure = 1 poly, and you got like...6000-7000 or more? witch is realy maney for an ingame sword :P your game might lag when running around with 7000 extra poly...

    Allways rember to make your item in 3D as low poly as you possible can when makeing it for game purpose. and i would love to see more weapons like this, but try make them less poly Good luck with your 3DS work.

    Not just that try look at it in wireframe, each square is 1 poly, and the blade looks so round with no hard edges, so eiter you used smooth, or else its realy high poly. GL with it

    Ah now i understand.. had to put wireframe on to see 'em
    well the blade isn't the problem now.. it is the part which protects your hand.. theres hell many polys in it
