    [Model Edit/Reskin] Several Model Edits and Reskins

    After spending a month or so on this site learning the basics of model editing, I decided to try and get out of leecher status by posting some of the edits which I've done and aren't already posted by ubermonkey. These are mostly DrF --> Other races, but I have a couple others. I am also posted the reskins I do.
    I might be adding some more Character-->Creature edits, if you want one use this guide to learn how.[/u].

    Files Hosted By Halefor on FileFront is the general link for all of them.

    Updated first post a bit.

    Doing Bootfixes on new edits that use them.

    List of all ModelEdits/Swaps I've done and hosted on FileFront:
    ToL-->Sylvanas
    Drake-->EpicDruidFlying
    DrFKid-->Hakkar
    DruidCatBearMoonkin reskin pack
    DrF-->Sylvanas
    HuF-->DrF
    DrF-->BeF with bootfix
    DrF-->HuF with bootfix
    BeF-->CrystalDryad
    GoldDraeneiFemaleReskin
    DrF-->DrM
    DrF-->Dryad
    RedAllianceDruidCatReskin
    RedDraeneiFemaleReskin
    NeM-->DrF
    NeM-->NeF
    AllianceDruidBearReskinStrange
    HuM-->DrF
    (Non-BootFix'd)DrF-->HuF
    DrF-->GnF
    DrF-->TrF

    Screen Shots in the post below.

    Guide Below Applies to any DrF Reskins I do.

    The Red Draenei Skin is under patch-RedDrF.MPQ, however it is currently set to the skin of my draenei character. You will need to change this using MyWarcraftStudio. You will probably also need WoWModel Viewer to figure out which skin and face you are using in game. What you will need to do is open MyWarcraftStudio and go to Pack-->Edit MPQ. Go to where ever you have the .MPQ saved and open it.

    Once it is open, open all the sub folders from Character.

    Once there you will want to left click on the Female folder once, then right click on it and select Copy Treepath.

    Once that is copied, select the DraeneiFemaleSkin and right click-->Rename.

    You will want to paste the tree path you copied earlier before the name so it goes something like this: "Character\Draenei\Female\DraeneiFemaleSkin00_04.blp" You will have to add a \ after you paste the treepath but before the skin's name.

    You then rename the skin to whichever skin your draenei is using, using the 00_## format. Hit ok, then do the same basic thing for both the upper and lower face files, as well as renaming the Pelvis and Torso files to the skin name as well. You will have to ad the "Character\Draenei\Female\" back in while renaming to have them stay in the right folder. Once that's done go to Pack-->Save and Close.

    Move the file into your Data Folder and run WoWME.

    Sorry for the guide, but otherwise most people who tried the Draenei Skin wouldn't be able to get it to work. If anyone has a request I will do my best to fill it, so long as it's not already posted in ubermonkey's thread.

    Cleaned up the first post a bit and added a golden DrF skin, which the screenshots do not do justice too, and you will have to rename it as well if you chose to use it. Also added a DrF --> DrM swap which, as far as I could tell, is pretty much perfect in form, although one or two pieces of low level armor looks strange.

    Edit to this: I added a much better showing screenshot of the golden skin.

    You need to use WoWModelViewer to recreate your character in there, with the same skin color and face, then look at the skin # and go with that. Let's say that you're using the fifth skin and the third face. You would rename the files to "...00_05" or "...03_05" The first one for the skin, the last one for the face. That's the best way I can think of to summarize it, recreate your character, find skin/face numbers, rename.

    Added a DrF-->BeF with bootfix, some of the skins a bit off in color, but not too bad.

    Edit: Maybe not for a few minutes, Filefront turned down the upload because "There are no available upload servers..." so soon as I get a chance to upload I will.

    Edit2: It's uploaded and in the general link provided in the first post.

    Nice edits! Been looking for a working DrF > BeF for a while now. However, the skin of my new BeF shaman's head is still in the DrF fashion. Any idea how to fix this?

    I'm not quite sure what you mean by that, but if you're talking about a helmfix, the DrF-->BeF doesn't have one as I didn't think of it, been playing without my helm turned on for a while. If you're talking about the skin color, I don't know why it does that for some draenei skins, but you might try renamming the skin color file in it that you are using to one that you think looks better.

    Yep, the skin of my shaman's head is still blue and has the draenei eyes :yuck:

    What program do I use to edit the file in the way you suggested and is there any guide for it?

    EDIT: Saw your guide...! But in my female folder there are tons of files and many different skin files. Which one is the one i should rename? :-(
