oh, btw, yes it is showing in the model viewer just fine. I've tried making the MPQ file all of the suggested, and I just get the same results.

HOpe that didn't sound bitchy, cause I'm not feeling that way. Just frustrated that everyone else has had no trouble and I seem to be the dork here. Looks awesome in the modelviewer though.

Ok, feel a bit like a dork having found my error, but in the interest of helping others should they be making the same error, here's what I did wrong. I was trying to change the gryphons that take you between cities not the actual mounts. Being a Noob I didn't realize that the two were different. I simply went in using myMPQ and took out "_mount" in the file name of the M2. I now have a wonderful Drake instead of a gryphon.

Also, I did notice that while the gryphon mount does look right in the modelviewer, the other gryphon's (except the skeleton) didn't. They looked as I previously described with the disembodied wings. That discovery is what made me realize my mistake. I don't have any high level characters to be in Shat yet so don't know if this problem will show in game or not.
