    XP/Vista Open TCPIP Restriction

    For XP

Dramatically increase Windows XP SP2 limited number of half-open connections.

Should help to remove any restrictions at your end and allow torrents perform at their best (other factors outside your control excepted).

All software is free and without restrictions.
File includes links to downloads and instructions on how to fix the restriction and set your MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) to match your connection's capabilities.

These instructions overcome the ridiculously low number of half-open connections forced upon you by Microsoft XP SP2 and show how to match the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) of your system to your connection.

    1. Download TCPOptimizer.exe from SpeedGuide.net :: TCP Optimizer / Downloads
    2. Download EvID4226Patch223d-en.zip from www.LvlLord.de - Tipps, Tricks & Utilities - Downloads
    3. Extract the files from instruction 2
    3. Run EvID4226Patch.exe (Intelligent TCPIP.SYS patcher)
    4. Alter the maximum number of half-open connections to the desired number. Maybe try 100 and work up or down from there.
    5. Run TCPOptimizer.exe
    6. Select Largest MTU tab and click Start to determine the largest non-fragmented packet available from your connection
    .

    7. Select General Settings tab and click on Custom Settings at the bottom. Enter the result from 6 in MTU box and apply changes.
    8. After rebooting, return to SpeedGuide.net :: TCP Optimizer / Downloads and click on TCP/IP Analyzer.
    9. Note the top RWIN value in the section "that might work well for you".
    10. Run TCPOptimizer.exe
    11. Select General Settings tab and click on Custom Settings at bottom. Enter result from 9 in TCP Receive Window box and apply changes.

If you have Azurues, the following instructions will be useful. If you have another bittorrent client, try to do the same.

    1. Goto Tools - Options, expand Connection and click on Advanced Network Settings.
    2. Set the Max simultaneous outbound connection attempts to perhaps 10 less than the figure set at instruction 4 above.
    3. Set Line Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) to the figure set at instruction 7 above.
    4. Click on Save

    For Vista

    Patch updated 5/2/07
    Patch Version 5.0
This is really easy to do.

Unpack the archive and run Patch32.bat (for x86) or Patch64.bat (for x64).

Run UndoPatch.bat to uninstall concurrent half-open TCP/IP connection limit patch,
and restore the original tcpip.sys, and registry setting.

Once installed you can have 70,000 half open connections, these connections
are temp connections anyways, you can change the limit to any setting you want,
go to run and type in regedit and navigate to
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\]
    "TcpNumConnections"=dword:00011170
and edit this value to whatever amount of connections you need.

Btw these half open connections are called Syn packets.

I have updated my patch so now it will give you the option to install the tcp/ip
patch as well as disabling UAC. If you dont want to disable uac after you patch
your max connections just press ctrl C when prompted and press y to terminate.

I have supplied uac_admin_on.reg and uac_admin_off.reg to click to easily enable and disable uac
for administrators after you patch your connections.

I have supplied uac_user_on.reg and uac_user_off.reg to click and easily enable and disable uac
for user accounts after you patch your connections.

I hope you enjoy the patches, there are a few others out there that have others, but I assure you
this one is better, I constantly update it and fix bugs.

As we know windows only allows 10 half-open connections by default this will allow alot more than that increasing the speed of your connection to the internet ie faster browsing, downloading and gaming etc.

I know for a fact the xp one works very well as iv been using it for years now as for the vista one im not 100% but iv been told it does work also but one thing i would suggest is to set a restore point before you make the changes just incase.

The downloads have everything you need in them and are virus free anyu more questions feel free to ask.

I'm getting this error when I run EvID4226Patch.exe:
    Code:
     C:WINDOWSSystem32DriversTCPIP.SYS cannot be accessed.
Try using 64-bit system file unlock ...
Kernelfunction could not be loaded ...

     C:WINDOWSSystem32DriversTCPIP.SYS cannot be accessed.
File has restricted access rights ...
Please check if the Windows-directory is correct or use /W parameter ...

     Patch aborted ...
Press any key to exit ...
Can you please help me? =/

EDIT: Nevermind, I rightclicked TCPIP.SYS and unchecked read only, EvID4226Patch.exe is working now.
