Lol! Reminds me of a Warrior on my non-RP realm. He got a transfer to a RP realm and opened the Gate. It turned out the these roleplayers have planned this even for MONTHS and he just opened the gates
There was a flamefest of a thread on my realm's forum. Tried to find the thread but I think it was deleted.

You can no longer get the title. There may be that one server left but that's it. Even when a new server opens, a gm will open the gates. My guild transfered to underbog the day it came out and the gates were already opened. We ticketed a gm and all that they said was that it's their new policy to have the gm open it. I'm not going to rep you because it simply can't work anymore.

Can anyone confirm t1080's claim?
Also, if I get the title then Xfer, will it stay with me?

In the end this actually happened. 95% of the Scarab Lord title-holders are from newly created realms in WOTLK. Transferring/rerolling or exploiting.. This all happened in january 2009 up until april/may 2009. Where probably around 600-1000 players got their title and mount in EU and US combined.
Sad part is that only 5% or less of all these title-holders got it during Vanilla... the ones that are LEGIT Scarab Lords.
It kinda ruined the legacy for these truly dedicated players because of the exploiters. I consider this a huge mistake by Blizzard.
If you followed this guide and opened the gates on a new realm, you are very lucky to do so. But that does not mean you deserved it
