Rogue specs

I did not write this, someone posted it on our server's forums. I don't play a rogue, so I don't know for sure if these specs are good, but the person that wrote this got gladiator and has killed Illidan, so I assume he knows what hes talking about. I just hadn't shared anything from mmowned before, and thought I'd contribute this.


Hello to the Rogue community of [server name removed]. Since I know many of you ask me for advice, I will try to answer most of them in this thread.

First of all I would like to tell the newbs who think that AR PREP nerf is one of the biggest rogue nerfs ever to crawl back into their newb den. Just because some idiot who knows how to make fancy videos complained about AR PREP nerf doesnt mean your class is worthless now.

So heres a list of specs that I think is very good.

#1 Shadow Step.

I got gladiator with shadow step, and with the new buff to it ... to my eyes it is the ultimate pvp spec. I have already gemmed and enchanted all my gear in order to make it strong.

Here are some variants of the spec.

Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft 11/9/41

-If you have !!!@ty stats, this could be a good spec for you. Having 4 into precision will make you never miss on blinds and other things assuming you at least have 1% hit with the gear you have... which is like ... 70 hit rating.

Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft 20/0/41

-This spec is pretty much aimed to own druids if you are sick and tired of facing them. With Vile Poisons, their abolish bull!!!@ will never screw you over again.

-This is a very good spec for survival and damage, the most balanced one I would say. You even have 1 extra point to put it in anything you want, hopefully you will do the right decision.

#2 Mutilate

-Highest dmg mutilate spec, although you can put the 2 points in endurance and swap it to 3/3 slice and dice.

Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft 41/3/17

- For people who cant live without subtlety, that spec should suit your needs. Although your damage will be pretty pitiful.

Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft 41/13/7

- Same thing but your damage wont be as depressing.

#3 Combat

For those who can`t live without AR or mace stuns...

-The usual combat spec with maces, although with swords it can still work.

Those specs aren't that great, I don't know what he was thinking, in some of the specs he misses vital points, in a pvp spec he has imp feint? (feint reduces your threat), it does give you 2% less crits on you aswell, but those two points could of been better spent else where.

yeah, but he got offhand spec under combat, with this spec, your MH and OH hit for about the exact same. It is something like a 10% DPS increase to have offhand spec over opportunity.. not to mention the 5% hit you get from talents..

whoever said #1 was shadowstep failes. it might seem nice and all, but for high rating pvp its no good. 11 / 26 / 24 is good if you have t6 for pvp, and also pretty good with pvp gear

oh okay, because I like to miss blinds and gouges and remember that a miss does no damage right? and your only purpose on a rogue is to do damage...

One point: In PVP you got full wep skill, means lot of hit
Secound point: No PVP items give +hit
Thired point: You should allways focus on dmg in pvp, as you are saying, but there is absolutly no pvp-rogue who have any form of gems or enchants that gives hit, because you dont need it. Show me a decent one with hit then.
Foguht point: Hit in pvp simple dosent give much of a +, compared to e.g. AP, theres a mechanic in PVP, that makes up for your lack of hit.

i really dont know what to say, there just big issues with this specc, if you are not a gnome, you need imp sprint for almost all speccs, and sence you are that low, why dont take ripost? imba now when ppl aint immune, but if you are a gnome and think you can survive, go for 18/0/43.
